Rising from the birthplace of suburbia in 2009, Electric Caves was formed to spread critiques of the capitalistic industrial society, technology, and our surveillance state to audiences both aware and just waking up to these threats against humanity. Combining the wisdom of thought pioneers such as Terence McKenna, Marshall McLuhan and Josiah Warren with the musical influences of Death Grips, Neurosis, Swans, and Third Eye Foundation the group delivers experimental soundscapes in a well thought out, genre-busting commentary on what it is like to live in this new millennium. Working closely with mastering engineer Tim Donovan (Wu-Tang, Erykah Badu) on the 2011 debut, Solace Furnace Transformation and it’s 2014 follow up, History Of Illusion the artist crafted “cold and desolate” sounding records that explored “post-Industrial textures to create hard-hitting, edgy electronic bits and bleak, hypnotically repetitive big beats”. In 2015, Martin Bisi (Swans, Foetus, Sonic Youth) was enlisted to work on Compassion Fatigue, at the legendary BC Studios in Brooklyn, NY. Unceasing in social commentary, the record is a defiant challenge to accelerating gentrification, destruction of the family unit, and the continuing annihilation of the natural world. With additional production by mastering engineer James Plotkin (Sunn 0))), Earth) and art-manipulation by Cody Drasser, the anticipated album will see a 2016 summer release. Currently based in New York, Electric Caves continues to “overwhelm, intensify and antagonize” showgoers with their polished and visceral live show.
